What
is
FOIA
FOIA:
The Freedom of Information Act was set up so that
regular people like you and I could gain access to
government information.
This includes information
from police departments, to local government,
to governors' offices.
Cost is to only cover
the actual cost to retrieve the information and to get
it to the person that is requesting it. The fee is
to be told up front.
Keep in mind that many
offices do not like that they have to hand over
information and will give you a hard time. But don't
give up.
